Influences influence everyone and saying that an original creation wasn’t influenced would be an untruth. But in today’s world, people have gone ahead and distorted the concept of influence. Now people are blatantly copying creations and putting them up for people to see in the name of “Remakes”. Yes, I am talking about the new (?) trend in Bollywood to remake hit southern movies and rake in the moolah. Agreed, the ‘idea’ has been fruitful, but then how long does Bollywood expect people to fall for this ruse? It’s not that remaking movies is a thing of today. There have been Hindi remakes done of movies in other languages in the past too. There have even been blatant copies where the makers didn’t even have the courtesy of mentioning the fact that they have been copied or rather lifted from other movies.
