Dazed & Confused

(How the heart never listens!)

DISCLAIMER: This post is not in any way related to the movie of the same name. Also, pardon the weirdly spaced out lines, not my fault.

As if Life wasn't difficult enough...

Life is complete with problems and challenges every day. But it's a new kind of difficult when you suddenly realize that you are falling in love or the percentage of your brain mass which was allotted to your “crush” is now demanding a bigger quota.
You know right then that this is so not what you want but you don't have control!
The funniest part about falling in love with someone is that all of a sudden the small divide between your bastard heart and your poor brain turns into a full blown Civil War with all the powerful ones going the heart’s way while the brain has nothing left except pull the “thinking card”. The brain becomes the veritable Tony Stark seeing his close allies, the five senses, side with the heart's Captain America (*cough**Hydra agent**cough). Damn you Bucky!!
And that's not enough, because how could it be. You see, the first time you fall in love (or the 50th time), and you have not yet broken the news to “said person in question”, you are in literal hell. You sneak glances at the person through carefully measured movements (ones which would put military snipers to shame) only to look away, lest they catch you. It's like you are in a frickin’ Metal Gear Solid game trying to outsmart the goddamn AI!! (Not so subtle game reference to make the post look cool)
Anyways, while you are doing all these manoeuvres, because the bastard heart asked you to, your brain is trying frantically to get you to focus on the work at hand. You see, the brain is like your parents, who scold you but ultimately they always wants you to do good. The heart is like that old grandma who makes you feel all warm and fuzzy but is actually secretly making you fat with all the food she piles on your plate (again, this is from general feedback from common people for I have no such experience).
So while you sing praises of your grandma and bitch about how strict your parents are or how you “like totally hate them”, you are being fooled!!!
But is it all bad? One wonders…
Yes, you lose interest in things which are not the “person” & yes, when you find the person in question to not have the same feelings for you, it sucks. You wander aimlessly through your home/office halls and scroll aimlessly through your Facebook timeline, hoping for a miracle (or a video of Arvind Kejriwal getting slapped to the tunes of Queen & A R Rahman - trust me it's therapeutic- trust me its there, find it!!! ). But it doesn't happen and then your close friends hear you cry and moan, while they wonder how did they end up there!! (It happens)

So, do we let Tony Stark do his thing and bring Bucky to justice?
Nah!! Go Team Cap..they have got Ant-Man for heaven’s sake!!!
For as they say, “When the heart speaks, the mind finds it indecent to object” (Milan Kundera)

So, yes, dazed and confused we are, but we got to give in, especially when that special person walks by, even if with a look of contempt towards you!!!!

  1. Quite the display of humor about a subject that taunts and confuses us all.
